A Four-Arm Framework to Implement Rapid Response Teams. The Experience of Albert Einstein Healthcare Network

In 2006, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network joined the Academic Rapid Response System Collaborative, a partnership between the Association of American Medical Colleges and the Delmarva Foundation. With support from the Robert Wood Johnson foundation, the goal is to implement a system to eliminate preventable deaths in teaching hospitals, and ensure that learners are integrated into that system. The collaborative provides guidance from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Through regularly scheduled meetings, teleconferences, and a listserv, we share action plans, failures, and success stories with other facilities. This wealth of information has shaped -and made possible-the implementation of a Rapid Response Team at Albert Einstein.
