HIGH-SPEED TRANSCEIVER FOR RADIO-OVER-POF APPLICATIONS

In this paper we present the concept, design, simulation and experimental results of a novel vertical electro-absorption transceiver (V-EAT)for radio-over-plastic optical fiber (RoPOF) WDM applications. A POF can be directly coupled to the top of a V-EAT consisting of a 3-dimentional vertical integration of a pin-photodiode and a DBR-heterostructure as modulator. Simulations and measurement results are discussed.
