OPTICAL FIBRE SENSORS EMBEDDED INTO TECHNICAL TEXTILE FOR HEALTHCARE (OFSETH)

The European project OFSETH investigates how vital parameters such as respiratory movement of anaesthetized patients during MRI examinations can be measured by fibre optic sensors embedded into medical textiles. With a special focus on using POF instead of silica fibres, OFSETH investigates three fibre sensor techniques: a macro-bending sensor, an OTDR sensor and FBG sensors.
