ON-LINE THERMAL MONITORING OF POWER TRANSFORMERS WITH FIBER BRAGG GRATINGS

摘要

This paper describes the development of an optical system for on-line thermal monitoring of power transformers immersed in oil using Fiber Bragg Gratings. The sensors were installed inside a power transformer near the high-voltage winding. The data obtained by the monitoring system were compared with data from conventional temperature sensor. Additionally the paper describes the attaching sensors technique employed and also the main difficulties encountered and the solutions adopted.
