摘要

The retinal surface of the human visual system contains rods and cones. These are specialized cells responsible for detection of light and its transduction to electrical signals to be sent for processing to the visual cortex The role of the rod-shaped cells is to detect the intensity of light which results in monochromatic vision. However, the human color perception is a result of the absorption of three constituent colors (red, green and blue) by three cone-cell type photoreceptors (L, M and S). Our study focuses on the latter type of photoreceptors.
