It is well known that damages in bearings and rotor are main causes of breakdown in an induction motor. These kinds of damages can be made by eccentricity in rotor, which brings unbalanced air gap length and vibration If the air gap length is not uniform, distribution of flux density will not be uniform, and so do the different electro-magnetic forces between the rotor and stator. This nonuniform flux distribution produces unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP) causing vibration. Therefore, to provide continuous and stable operating of an induction motor, there are needed quick and reliable vibrations monitoring systems that can detect and prevent from the problem at an early stage.
