The aim of the project is to determine the fundamental effects of impurities and individual micro-alloying elements (e.g. as vanadium V, titanium Ti, calcium Ca, zirconium Zr and phosphorus P) or combinations of these trace elements in aluminium alloys and their impact on the quality of aluminium castings.As a result, limiting values and tolerances for individual impurities (trace elements) should be defined and determined. Additional practical methods were developed to support a reliable series production of high-quality alloys and castings as well as the procurement of aluminium alloys by the foundries.
