Phosphoproteomic analysis of acute hepatic insulin resistance has revealed phosphoproteins with novel roles in canonical insulin signaling, some of which are PKCε dependent and some that may be driven by CDKs in the HFD state. The mechanism by which these proteins interact with PKCε, CDKs and the insulin signaling pathway has yet to be determined.
