摘要

The utilization of thermal desorption NCI TOF-MS has been demonstrated as capable instrumentation for the ionization of a broad spectrum of compounds in a shorter time period than GC-MS or LC-MS alone could accomplish. The current data set indicates that BCDMH does undergo unimolecular and/or hydrolysis reactions leading to the formation of an assortment of DBPs in a hot tub. Similarities between hot tub samples and BCDMH treated lake water indicate that the source water also plays a role in which DBPs may be formed. Brominated species were identified by selecting ions that were separated by the 81Br-79Br mass difference and had relative abundances that conformed to isotopic ratios consistent with one and two bromine atoms.
