摘要

Currently, OPSCC patients are treated regardless of HPV status. However, patients with persistent HPV infections can be managed with less aggressive therapies minimizing. unnecessary morbidity associated with higher mortality Current methods of detection are technically challenging for routine clinical application and their specificity is limited (HPV DNA, HPV RNA and p16 IHC). Host cell dysregulation in response to persistent HPV infections in OPSCC patients has been investigated to test their potential to determine HPV status as an alternative. Host RNA binding proteins known to control HPV mRNA expressions are found to be dysregulated in HPV (+) OPSCC. The results imply the potential of host protein analysis for HPV status determination in OPSCC.
