For TMS-CPs, the hydrolysis rate was sufficiently high, and therefore, they hydrolyzed back to their polar native form during the ESI process. The proposed approach provided satisfactory chromatographic separation and sensitivity for CPs. Partial hydrolysis was observed for TMS-organic acids, whereas no hydrolysis was observed for TMS-beta agonists.
