Integrating -omics strategies has become a new frontier in systems biology However, to understand the complexity of a biological system we must include events like early response to stimulus (protein phosphorylation) and structural gene regulation (epigenetic mechanisms) We investigated abnormalities in Drosophila melanogaster development upon treatment with kinase inhibitors For this purpose, we integrated proteomics, phosphoproteomics and histone post-translational modification (PTM) analysis using mass spectrometry (MS) and chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with DNA sequencing (ChIP-seq). By in-house bioinformatics analysis we reconstructed links between drug treatment and phenotypic abnormalities during development of larvae.
