The ions observed herein by MALDI-TOF MSI are being characterizated by other MS techniques, and experiments of metabolic exchanges between Curtobacterium sp. and X. fastidiosa are under development. The knowledge of Curtobacterium sp. antagonistic metabolites may provide grants to combat citrus-variegated chlorosis. The study of this ecological system has not yet been studied by MSI.
