Newly developed Photo Lysine (K~*) exhibits previously unobserved charge dependent absorption behavior of diazirines. Diazirine positional absorbance effects noted. Proposed mechanism for diazirine absorbance and ring cleavage accounts for differences in absorbance between charge states and explains why this behavior wasn't previously noted in Photo-Leucine and Photo-Methionine residues but is largely untested.
