In vitro digestion of brain lysate with calpain was performed to mimic the breakdown of proteins following a real brain injury. From the list of proteins obtained using database search, a few brain proteins were selected based on the top score. Western blot was performed on the high molecular weight proteins (greater than 10,000 Da), that were retained on the membrane filter.
