At least three forms of the Dsr complexes were purified using MonoQ column fractionation. All three forms carried subunits of the same primary structure, according to MS analysis of denatured complexes. Molecular masses of DsrA, B and C differ from theoretical prediction. Two of the Dsr complexes carried all three Dsr components: A, B and C. One did not contain subunit C. Three major forms of Dsr complexes were identified: hexamer [DsrA]_(2)[DsrB]_(2)[DsrC]_(2), pentamer [DsrA]_(2)[DsrB]_(2)[DsrC] and tetramer [DsrA]_(2)[DsrB]_(2).
