IDA files were searched against Swiss-Prot database using Protein Pilot and Mascot search engines. Overall, 9 proteins were detected. Two of them were contaminant proteins (serum albumin and keratin). Six of the nine proteins were found by both search engines. Two proteins were only found from the Paragon search and one unique protein was found only from the Mascot search. A control experiment was also performed to identify any non-specific binding. From the control experiment, one protein was found from the both search engines. The Paragon search engine yielded one more protein.
