摘要

MIMS techniques offer quantitative information via introduction of volatile and semivolatile analytes from a sample matrix directly into an ion-trap mass spectrometer through a semi-permeable membrane. Despite the advantages of direct real-time analysis and low detection limits, current applications of MIMS are limited to analytes of relatively high volatility that preferentially permeate polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membranes. We report a surface modified membrane interface for use with MIMS, achieved by immobilizing Candida rugosa lipase directly onto the surface of PDMS. This new interface extends the range and increases the versatility of MIMS allowing for the analysis of hydrophilic, less volatile esters.
