The Marquette Interchange, located in the midst of Downtown Milwaukee, is a vital link in the state's economy and transportation system. The geometric complexities and limitations dictated by building around the intersection of three interstate highways continuously open to traffic demanded innovative solutions. The project team answered the challenge and added lasting value to the project. The project construction costs are tracking within the allocated budget to this point in the project, which is well underway. Taking the extra step in design and detailing fracture critical steel elements will continue to save the Wisconsin Department of Transportation money over the life of the project.
