OE-Scheduler is a scheduler that generates a schedule of periodic tasks by the principle of eliminating unnecessary context switches under the Rate Monotonic Algorithm. This will guarantee the hard deadlines of an arbitrary number of periodic tasks in hard real-time environments. In previous research, the OE-Scheduler was developed using procedural methods. Software produced by these methods has often proven to be inflexible and difficult to modify or enhance. Because an object-oriented approach makes it easier to modify the system, this paper will introduce an object-oriented approach for OE-Scheduler in real-time environments. This model will be a basis for building more dynamic real time environments such as aperiodic, BP, and sporadic. An object-oriented design of the scheduler will be presented, along with an implementation in JAVA. A comparison between our algorithm and other well known algorithms in terms of context switches will also be shown.
