A 20 X Concentrating PV System with Thermal Energy Recovery for residential applications

Many high-concentrating devices have been developed in the past, but they have usually been not cheaper than conventional solar panels. Research on small PV concentrators shows that most promising photovoltaic modules are those that allow for manufacturing solar cells little different in design and cost from one-sun cells, built in mono-crystalline silicon. Actually these cells can be used at concentration ratios up to 20-40x with efficiencies up to 20%.
