Historically, spectral data from space-based observatories has been archived in a variety of FITS formats with metadata described using a varietyof FITS keywords. For example, some HST heritage instruments like GHRSand FOS, even stored fluxes, wavelengths, and error estimates in separate files.With the advent of the VO, the SED data model, and the SSA protocol, weare proposing to create a standard spectral container for HST data that can beapplied to other missions as well. The container will include additional metadata(when necessary) and serve as a translation layer between the current file formatsand the standardized VO format. The poster describes the current status of thiscontainer, and briefly discusses areas where the current data model may notallow sufficient flexibility.
