Translating ALMA Science Goals into Pipeline Processing Requests

Capturing ALMA user science goals at proposal submission time and factoring these goals into a set of standard pipeline processing units, a set of standard observing units, and a set of user intents which can be encapsulated in a pipeline processing request, is key to the successful operation of the ALMA science pipeline.
