摘要

The micro structure of AZS blocks after production is well known and often shown in product catalogues, but chemistry as well as mineral phases and their changes during use are poorly lit in literature. There is one exception that is the exudation of AZS materials. Why do we want to know about the changes in the microstructure during use? If problems occur with glass quality that may be connected to the refractory materials, the results of mineralogical investigations could hardly be interpretated and may mislead to wrong conclusions as mineral phases occure that are not present in a AZS material after production. We also want to know more about the corrosion mechanisms.
