SiemensVAI 4-Wrapper PowerCoiler Project for heavy thickness high strength steel pipe application on Arcelor Fos/Mer Hot strip mill

In November 2004, VAI Clecim, France, a company of the Siemens VAI Group, was awarded by ARCELOR Group, a contract for the supply of a new downcoiler to be installed in the SOLLAC Mediterranee Fos/Mer Hot Strip Mill, ARCELOR Group The new coiler will replace the first coiler of coiler group N°2, which is dedicated to thicker strip coiling. The project consists in the engineering, supply and commissioning of a new 4-wrapper PowerCoiler, and shall be dedicated to the production of the new strip grades and dimensions. The project is mainly driven by the extension of current product mix and a focus on new market such as API pipe grades.
