Study of the operational durability of the shell galleries for band conveyors

In 1974 in one of the power plants the shell gallery was put into service. It functioned as a bearer and a housing for a belt conveyor transporting coal to the main building of the power station. This paper discusses the results of the diagnostic examinations of this gallery and its modifications that included mounting the additional support and changing the construction of the floor of the gallery. During the modifications the analysis of the local elastic instability of the shell was carried out as well.
