Experience of CLP Power Transmission Overhead Lines Operation and Maintenance

摘要

The performance of CLP Power (CLPP) transmission overhead lines (OHL) is affected by geological, meteorological, environmental, technical and social factors. Since the commission of the 400kV transmission OHL system in 1981, lightning and insulator contamination have been the major causes of system faults in CLPP. Vegetation interference and third party disturbance are other contributing factors to system outages. This paper describes CLPP's experience in using an integrated operation and maintenance approach to improve the performance of transmission OHL, with an objective to delivering a high quality, reliable and value-added electricity supply service to the company's customers. The integrated approach involves the continuous improvement in preventive maintenance, response for corrective maintenance and emergency preparedness.
