摘要

Piezoelectric composite materials, an important branch of smart material and structure, are modern sensor and actuator materials with wide applications for its sensing and actuator characteristics. The 1-3 piezoelectric composite consists of piezoelectric rods embedded in the polymer. This kind of materials with an advantage such as: high electromechanical coupling factor and low acoustic impedance, have been applied effectively in the pulse-echo transducers used in medical ultrasonic imaging. Piezoelectric composite materials also can be used for micro-aircraft vehicle controlled by the smart materials embedded in coving caused sensors to achieve self-control of micro-aircraft and improve micro-vehicle safety performance. In this paper, the simple model of 1-3 piezoelectric composites is set to describe the performance of the materials and evaluate the influences of the oblique angles, volume fraction and the parameters of PZT rods to its electromechanical coupling factor and the acoustic impedance for smart structure applications.
