QUALITY CONTROL AND REPROCESSING OF AATSR DATA

The performance and quality of the AATSR instrument and products are routinely assessed by the IDEAS team. The main objective is to detect, investigate and close out any anomalies occurring either on-board or within the ground segment. This information is then conveyed to the scientific and user community in order to allow them to utilise AATSR data with confidence. This paper presents details of the activities performed during routine operations and goes on to describe how these are adapted to ensure that reprocessed AATSR data meets its quality requirements. This is expected to be of particular interest given the activities under way for the third reprocessing of AATSR; this paper also sets out the objectives for this reprocessing.
