Application of electric sounding for prediction and treatment water disaster in coal mine

Electric sounding has been used to predict and treat water disasters caused by aquifer (Xu Zhenchao, 1995), fault belt, fracture belt, collapse pillar and accumulated water existing in exhausted area underground in coal mines (Guo Jianqiang, 2003). After data acquired from the method and calculating to Profile K, the anomalies are clearly extruded, with which it becomes easy to carry out interpretation, finally enhancing the resolution and interpretation accuracy (Xaio Baixiong, 2000). From 3 cases of exploration in the investigation area, it indicates that electric sounding is not only feasible to predict and treat water disasters in coal mines, but also has distinct efficiency. Besides, this method has advantages of prompt, simple, low cost and high accuracy (Zhao Guangling, 2005).
