In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), achieving low power consumption is a key consideration in developing new routing algorithms and hence existing routing strategies proposed for Mobile ad hoc networks are not directly applicable to wireless sensor networks. In this paper, a new routing protocol, Meshed Multipath Routing with Leveling in Route discovery (L-MMPR) is presented. We first present the leveling scheme where the whole sensor network is tagged with different level ID's, then we present the multipath searching taking the advantage of those level ID's and after that routing of packets using packet replication method is explained. Performance evaluations show that throughput values of proposed L-MMPR method are better than ordinary Meshed Multipath Routing (MMPR) protocol.
