摘要

Detailed reservoir characterizations sometimes entail description of reservoir models with multiple reservoir zones; each zone is then described with multi-million gridblocks through integrated geologic and geophysical interpretations. The challenge is then to verify these models with dynamic flow profiles measured in the field. Conventionally, these models are upscaled and history-match is obtained by applying coarse-scale effective static and dynamic variables. This is a potential problem when interrogating complex flow problems (e.g. displacement with unfavorable mobilities and EOR/IOR processes) through highly heterogeneous systems when these properties are smeared through averaging procedures.
