摘要

Geopolymer gels could be optimized for binders, possessing high mechanical strength. Two further applications will be reported. Firstly NaBH_4 crystals can be recrystallized within a geopolymer type matrix. The compositions and solidification conditions could be optimized, obtaining an hydrogen release of about 72 wt% of pure NaBH_4. The hydrogen release is obtained by acid titration without the requirement of any catalyst. Secondly sodalites of micro- and nano-crystalline sizes could be synthesized, enclosing the BH_4-anion in the cages. The crystals share extended contributions of a geopolymer type matrix. The matrix stores and transports the water molecules for the hydrogen release reactions, revealing new anion species [H_(4-n)B(0H)_n]", n = 1, 2, 3 in the sodalite cages.
