Convergence between the Cable Network and Telecommunication Network in China

摘要

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the cable network and telecommunication network have been regulated under two different government units. With the development of the information technology, both networks have been experiencing tremendous changes. These changes blurred the boarder line between the service domains of the two networks in China. The convergence of the service provides development opportunity for both the networks. However the trend of this convergence also gives the challenge to the old regulatory authorities. This study explores the possibilities of the convergence of the two networks and provides a new regulatory model for the future.
