EXPLORING TECHNOLOGY IMPRINTS AND IDENTIFYING ATTITUDINAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN EGYPTIAN AND AMERICAN INTERNET USERS

A study was conducted with the purpose of exploring technology imprints of Internet users and documenting attitudinal differences in the United States and Egypt. Populations of similar demographics in both countries were chosen to participate in the study. Demographic and Internet attitude data were collected. Four factors were used to measure attitudes: perceived usefulness, perceived ease-of-use, perceived significance, and likeability. A total of 117 subjects were tested; 77 in Egypt and 40 in the U.S. Results indicated significant main effects for culture, education, previous Internet use experience, and questionnaire language as well as a significant interaction effect between education and Internet use.
