摘要

The ancient city of Europos (or Evropos), is located in Central Macedonia (northern Greece), not far from the city of Thessaloniki. The purpose of this research project, is to detect and delineate buried potential archaeological remains, and propose them to archaeologists for further field work. QuickBird, IKONOS, SPOT and ALOS satellite imagery have been used for this purpose, along with geophysical (magnetic and'electrical) measurements. QuickBird imagery showed the best results for the purpose of our study. Preliminary results of this research, indicate a,number of promising target-areas for a more thorough investigation.
