Delamination in composite sandwich structures is an important failure mode. Although the problem of a facesheet delamination from a solid core has been extensively investigated, the failure mechanism of delamination of a facesheet from a honeycomb core is far from fully understood. In this paper, the application of a cohesive zone model (CZM) implemented as interface finite element is presented. The CZM is then used to study facesheet-core interface delamination of honeycomb fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) sandwich panels.
