Product crystals obtained from batch crystallization are often required to be monodispersed and high purity. It is important to discuss the effects of initial seeding operation conditions such as initial solution concentration, initial suspension density and average size of seed crystals on CSD and purity. In this study, the relationships among initial seeding operation conditions, CSD and purity of product crystals were investigated in order to obtain high quality suspended crystalline particles. The experiments were carried out in succinic acid - water binary system. As the results, not only the amount of seed crystals but also the average size of seed crystals and initial seeding operation condition affect the quality of suspended crystalline particles.
