摘要

This paper presents a new method combining finite element method (FEM) and new-style equivalent source method (NESM) to solve the magnetic field problem of the planar open magnet for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The FEM is applied in the permanent magnet region, the NESM is applied in the open air-region, and the two methods are coupled at the interface of two regions. In comparison with FEM, the combined method improves the precision of solution and computation efficiency so that the planar open magnet for MRI can be designed more accurately by using this combined method.
