21st Century Advanced Control Technology for the Minerals Processing industry

摘要

The ambition of the lecture is not to paint a picture of the evolution of control technology over the next 100 years, which would likely be naive. The aim is firstly, to outline process control technology that is already available in 2004 and has started to intensely modify the way mineral processing plants are operated, and secondly, to reflect on developing technology that is likely to further revolutionise our industry during the coming years. The concepts presented are quite general, but the examples given are based on the experience of the lecturer and his colleagues at Metso Minerals.
