摘要

The influence of the elastic deformation of the ligament of a double cantilever beam on the displacement of the tips of a chevron notch under external applied load is analyzed. With the Finite Element Method it was shown, that when calculating a deflection of the beams one cannot neglect the boundary effects if the relation of the length of the beam to its width is less than 5.The contribution of the deformation of the ligament to the displacements of the chevron notch in experiments on small-scale specimens can reach more than 20% from the full displacement of it.
