CALDAG NICKEL PROJECT - COMMINUTION AND TRANSPORTATION OF ORE

Adequate consideration should be given while selecting the type of comminution equipment to be selected for a particular project. The ore samples taken from the project mine needs to be tested in a laboratory in order to determine the ore characteristics which dictate the type of crushing equipment to be used. Material handling is also another important element in any plant which needs to be designed optimally and smartly to minimise capital and operating cost, and also to achieve high percentage of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety. This paper details the process of selecting the crushing equipment, conveying to stockpile and then stacking into the heap module for a nickel project in Turkey.
