The NorthMet Project is well advanced. With its Feasibility Study completed September 2006, the Company has proceeded with the next stage of the development program prior to obtaining permits. Bateman will provide process design and URS Corporation of Denver, will provide the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the project. The engineering manhours are estimated at 375,000 and over 1 million construction manhours. The front end engineering and design (FEED) work commenced in late 2006. The objective is to maintain the momentum for a production start in late 2008/early 2009. The biggest effort has been made in the environmental and permitting area. All of the engineering parameters for both mine and process plant have been designed to meet the highest environmental standards.
