Launching into a Golden Age (2)- high precision parts for luxurious Swiss watches

摘要

Direct LIG(A) gears in a watch movement represent a big step in the development of mechanical horology. Indeed, the first LIG(A) parts represent a quantum leap in the long history of watch making because the very properties of the LIGA-technique, particularly its extreme precision and sidewall quality, are combined in a synergetic way with the properties of metals, namely those of nearly pure but sufficiently hard gold. This paper demonstrates the basics of the fabrication of these micro components and focuses on the general market aspects of luxury watches.
