An input device for subjective assessments of bimodal audio visual perception

This contribution deals with the problems of subjective assessments of (interactive) application systems. It presents considerations regarding the problem of split attentiveness common in audiovisual subjective assessments. A specialized device for the input of test subjects' ratings which is based on the haptic channel is introduced and its design principles are discussed in detail. A short evaluation of the benefits as well as an outline of a typical assessment session with the device are given.
