摘要

This paper is presenting the development of a data base management system, specially designed for the organization and management pictorial information of non - destructive methods for artworks. The primer target of this system is to conserve the information resulting by experimental process of the following methods that applied at the laboratory of the Physical and Chemical Methods and Techniques, at the department of Conservation of Works of Art and Antiquities at the Technological Educational Institution of Athens: a) Photography by raking light, b) Macrophotography, c) Ultraviolet reflection and fluorescent photography, d) Infrared photography, e) Infrared reflectography, f) Optical Microscopy. The system is referred to polychrome artworks. The advantages of the system that it will be demonstrated are the collection and comparison of the relevant information from the abovementioned methods and the standardization of their conclusions. This information is particularly important for conservators because it could be used as reference and guidance to their research.
