Distributed measurement system is a real-time system essentially. In general, finite state machine is applied to model distributed measurement system. However, finite state machine cannot meet description for dynamic behavior of distributed measurement system. So CTOOPN (Colored Timed Object-oriented Petri Net) can be used to model with distributed measurement system. Firstly, the basic definitions and characteristics of CTOOPN model are described. Then, the dynamic behavior of distributed measurement system based on CTOOPN model is analyzed from an object-oriented perspective. The result shows that CTOOPN can specify the dynamic behavior of distributed measurement system and CTOOPN is an effective tool for modeling with distributed measurement system.
