Rheium-188 generators of ~1 Ci activity are the most promising ones for clinical or centralized nuclear pharmacy use. Relatively long half-life of the parent radionuclide (69 days) allows one to exploit generators for a long time (up to 6 month) [1] provided that parameters of the Re-188 eluate, produced with this generator, are stable. At long-term generator' operation Re-188 eluate bulk activity is inevitably decreased due to decay of the parent W-188 but this problem can be solved by using of concentrating systems [1]. However, literature lacks data describing changes of other generator' parameters, like Re-188 yield, W-188 breakthrough, impurities content, etc. [2]. Besides, these data were produced for relatively low generator activity (450 mCi) [2]. These circumstances have initiated our study of rhenium-188 generator parameters that was carried out within the frames of the Program of joint research between RIAR and CIAE on generator technology development. Results of this study are presented in the report.
