Aspects Regarding the Design of Elastic Couplings With Metallic Flexible Membranes

The paper specifies the place of the flexible membrane coupling in metallic intermediary elements couplings area, depending on various parameters: nature of components, capability to handle installation misalignments and the magnitude of torque transmission. The paper presents the basic aspects about mechanical strength calculus and verification of the main components of the elastic coupling (inner and outer rivets, fixing bolts and membranes spokes). Are suggested calculus schemes at various loads to determine the stress state in the area of fillet root of the membrane spokes. A calculus is made to determine the number of membranes from the elastic pocket. This calculus is used to a detailed further analysis of the stress and strain state through the finite element method, analyze that will be the subject of other papers.
