Longitudinal structures generated by external vortical and thermal waves in subsonic and supersonic boundary layers are studied in the paper. Particular attention is paid to the boundary conditions at the boundary layer outer edge. It was established that longitudinal velocity and mass flow disturbances inside the boundary layer can exceed the amplitude of external vortical wave in several times. Excitation efficiency decreases with increasing Mach number. Influence of thermal external waves on the flow structure in the boundary layer is much weaker.
